Friends alum David Schwimmer couldn’t resist teasing his co-star and on-screen love Jennifer Aniston after she posed for a sultry shower snap to launch her hair care products with LolaVie.
Jennifer and David captured the hearts of millions of fans as Rachel and Ross – and they’re still firm favorites all these years later. Many years later, the actors admitted to fancying each other back in the day.
A few days ago, the actress posted a vintage-looking shot on her Instagram that showed her posing in the shower with her back turned to the camera and next to bottles of her LolaVie products. As David decided to replicate the image, many fans expressed their excitement at their “flirty” banter.
David asks for a ‘towel’ in response to Jennifer’s shower post
On September 8, David took Instagram to share a similar picture of himself in the shower – although his was slightly more dramatic with shampoo all over his face.
Jennifer had been promoting an upcoming release with the hair care brand on her social media account, where she told her 40.7 million followers that “something’s coming”.
In a message directly to the actress, as well as his 6.7 million Instagram followers, David captioned his cheeky response snap: “@jenniferaniston – a towel I hope??”
Of course, the actress had to reply to his message. She commented: “Schwim!? Trying to steal my thunder!?”
Fans react to the “cutest interaction”
Ever many years later, fans can’t seem to move on from Rachel and Ross’ chemistry on-and-off set. Once fans had realized that the actor was teasing the actress, thousands of comments appeared wishing for the two to work together once more.
Another fan wrote: “Stop I live for interactions.”
A second fan added: “He’s recreating Jen’s post, this is so cute.”
Another one joked: “Thank goodness it wasn’t the same shower… You guys would have broken Instagram”
David admits to having “crushed hard” on Jennifer
The Friends series has become the most popular series of the 90s. 20 years later, the series continues to preserve its audience as new generations have become obsessed with the adventures of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross.
A year ago, the pair admitted they had a crush on each other while filming on the hit show. Nonetheless, the two actors never ended up confessing their feelings for one another and remained friends.
While filming the reunion of the cast, David admitted: “At some point, we were crushing hard on each other. But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”
Jennifer added: “Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”
Maintaining a “deep respect and love for each other,” the two stars never had an off-screen romance.
