According to the most recent news, police in New Orleans have detained four youths who are suspected of carjacking a 73-year-old woman and dragged her to her death in her car. The incident took place in the 300 block of North Scott Street on Monday afternoon at approximately 01:30 p.m., according to authorities. After arriving, officers discovered Linda Frickey, who was unresponsive on the ground and “suffering from her arm being detached from her body,” according to the officers. Frickey was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

She eventually had her limb amputated from her body, according to Superintendent Shaun Ferguson, who spoke during a press conference on Tuesday (March 22nd, 2022). Several teenagers have been detained in similar cases, according to Ferguson, including a 17-year-old male, a 16-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old females. Their identities have not been revealed, but according to Ferguson, they will be charged with 2nd-degree murder if they are found guilty.
Cops also revealed that they were able to apprehend the suspects after releasing photographs of them and after the parents of two of the suspects informed law enforcement of their whereabouts “The parents of one 15-year-old female immediately called our investigators and turned their daughter in,” according to Ferguson, who also added that the parents of another suspect followed up with additional information that led to the arrest of the second suspect.

“This was an extraordinarily difficult decision on the part of these parents,” Ferguson remarked emphatically. There has been no indication on whether or not the accused will be charged as adults. During a press conference on Tuesday morning, Ferguson noted, “That is a conversation that my staff will have with the office of the district attorney.” I would say that they should be charged as adults…consider the severity of the crime.” “I would say absolutely, I motivate, I will ask that they be charged as adults.”
