Former Good Morning America host Charlie Gibson returned to the morning show this week alongside his daughter Kate with some viewers now curious to know more about her.
Longtime ABC News watchers will know Charlie for his more than a three-decade stint as part of the network in which he hosted as part of GMA as well as its World News program.
The former TV host featured on GMA once again this week as he was joined by his daughter Kate who he co-hosts on their podcast series The Book Case.

Meet Charlie Gibson’s daughter Kate
Like her father, Kate has also worked in the world of TV as a producer and director.
Kate has previously worked on several Food Network shows, which as per her Linkedin profile, include the Cooking With Kids series and Guy Fieri’s Roadshow.
Her profile also lists Kate to have had a brief stint as part of CBS News, where she worked as a producer on the network’s The Early Show.
Elsewhere as per The Hollywood Reporter, Kate is currently studying for her master’s, which is in library and informational sciences. She achieved her bachelors at Northwestern University, where she studied radio and television.

Kate Gibson is currently 46 years of age and is the youngest daughter of her veteran ABC News star dad, Charlie Gibson, and wife, Arlene.
Charlie and Arlene also welcomed daughter Jessica together. According to a past New York Times report on her wedding, Jessica will be turning 50 this year and has a background in law.
While appearing alongside her father on Good Morning America this week, Kate mentioned her age as she reflected on the 50th anniversary of the well-known children’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
While discussing her feelings about sharing the classic book with her children, she quipped: “First of all, I’m 46 years old, and I’m still working out on the emotional regulation that is discussed in this book.”
Father and daughter duo launched their own podcast in April
Earlier this year, it was announced that the former World News and Good Morning America host Charlie Gibson would be joining forces with his daughter Kate for their podcast series The Book Case.
The podcast is a literary series that aims to expand listeners’ horizons by welcoming them into the world of books through discussions with figures from authors to bookstore owners.
News of the family pairing’s new venture was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, with Kate at the time explaining the idea came about after she stepped away from her TV career in 2019.
After she left the industry, she refound her passion for books as she began looking for her next job. It was her husband who suggested she transform her love for reading into a podcast alongside her father after he noted their interesting book talk.
The introductory episode aired in late April and was followed by its first episode with guest Oprah Winfrey in early May.
