What is the story behind ‘Trees Of Peace’?
The video depicts the horrifying genocide of Tutsi minority ethnic group in Rwanda by armed soldiers, which shocked the entire world in 1994. It centers on four women from various backgrounds. Annick (Elliane Umuhire), Jeannette (Charmaine Bingwa), Peyton (Ella Cannon), and Mutesi (Bola Koleosho), four ladies who have been scared by genocides, hide beneath a little hiding space beneath a kitchen area. During the gore-filled Rwandan genocides, they all create unbreakable bonds of sisterhood with one another in the course of staying together. As their hands are raised in the air, the film’s poster conveys the theme of these four ladies daring to grasp for the light and yearning for a better tomorrow.
“Four ladies from different origins establish an unbreakable sisterhood while trapped and in hiding during the genocide in Rwanda,” according to the official synopsis. “It was inspired by genuine events.”

Charmaine Bingwa, 36, is an Australian actress best known for her role as Carmen Moyo in the CBS television drama ‘The Good Fight.’ She’s also appeared in films such as ‘Black Box,’ ‘Nekrotronic,’ and ‘The Pitch,’ among others. She will play Jeannette in the much-anticipated Rwandan true-story film ‘Trees Of Peace,’ which will be released globally on Netflix.
