He’s provided commentary for the sport for 16 years, and is himself a former professional golfer.

Many will be sad to see (or hear) Sir Nick bow out of the business. Fans of the sport will recognise his distinctive voice from BBC Sport, the Golf Channel and CBS Sports.

Several reference sites agree that Nick Faldon’s net worth, at time of retirement in 2022, is in the region of $60 million.

That’s just under £49 million – despite working for an American television network, Faldon is English. He hails from Welwyn Garden City, a large town in Hertfordshire, England.

The Richest notes that his company Nick Faldo (International) owned just over £1m ($1.2m) in assets in 2010. That was 12 years ago.

His business empire and properties combined would “normally” bring Nick Faldo’s net worth to “about £54m” ($66m), the outlet adds, but his three divorces have apparently cost him as much as £20m ($24.5m).

He claimed the European Tour Order of Merit a second time in 1992, and had worldwide earnings of £1,558,978 ($1,913,770) – in a single year.

That year, The Gigantic Book of Golf Quotations cites him as saying: “The run doesn’t have to end. If someone is going to beat me then I’m going to make sure they’ve worked for their victory. Let them come and get it from me.”

His tournament earnings are among the highest in the world
