A lady from Volusia County was given a 12-year prison term for the death of her 5-month-old baby, who died after being struck and tossed to the ground after refusing to stop sobbing.
The 5-month-old child was killed on June 12, 2019, when his father dropped him on his head and slammed him against a table, according to Michigan State Police.
The deceased couple’s kid Daemon was about five months old and weighed about 12 pounds. A report claims that on June 11, 2019, Scott dialed 911 to report that his son was having trouble breathing when the family was residing in a mobile home at 19 N. Yonge St. in Ormond Beach.

Stephanie Holly is detained and accused of killing her 5-month-old son.
Stephanie Holly, 37, pleaded not guilty to the counts of neglect of a child causing significant bodily harm, failure to report child abuse/neglect, and criminal negligence expose injury, according to the State Attorney’s Office for Volusia and Flagler Counties.
Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols found Holly guilty on Friday, and she was given a 12-year prison term with an additional eight years of probation. The State’s case was successfully pursued by Assistant State Attorney Andrew Urbanak. The sentence was delivered by the judge who oversaw the matter, the Honorable Dawn Nichols.
She claimed that the child’s injuries were brought on by a box fan accidentally falling on his face. She stated that she was not aware of the child’s cigarette burn and that he thought his injuries were “not that serious,” according to a police report.

Caleb J. Scott, the baby’s father, was convicted of first-degree murder, serious child abuse, and neglect endangering great bodily harm. He is currently incarcerated.
Scott allegedly took care of Damon in Ormond Beach in 2019 when the child wouldn’t stop sobbing, according to the prosecution. The 5-month-old was allegedly beaten several more times and dropped to the ground by the defendant in an effort to quiet the wailing.
When emergency personnel came, they discovered Damon to be dehydrated and unconscious. He was transferred to a nearby hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. According to the arrest report, medical personnel discovered the boy with bruises in various stages of healing, wounds on his face, and possibly a cigarette burn behind his ear.
Additionally, in 2020 Holly, Scott’s ex-girlfriend, was detained in Michigan. The Ormond Beach police questioned Holly in June 2019 after Scott and Holly contacted 911 to report that their infant was not breathing.

After being detained, Stephanie Holly was brought to the Volusia County Women’s Jail. One year ago, the couple’s 5-month-old child, Daemon Scott, was murdered. Holly is being detained in Monroe on a $210,000 bond while she waits to be extradited to Florida.
All inmates and guests arriving at the Volusia County Woman Jail are reportedly subject to searches. Under Florida law, contraband includes things like firearms or items that can be used as weapons (such a key chain that also functions as a pen knife), prescription and illegal narcotics, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals or cosmetics, and tobacco goods.
This arrest was hailed by Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey as yet another example of the department’s excellent investigation work and cooperation with the State Attorney’s Office. The witness declares, “Baby Daemon, the victim, will be suitably represented in a court of justice.” “I have no doubt that justice will be served in relation to this difficult investigation.”
