Actor Robin Parkinson has sadly passed away aged 92, a statement from his family has confirmed.

Parkinson was best known for his work on comedy sitcoms ‘Allo ‘Allo! and Dad’s Army, but was also notable for narrating children’s show Button Moon.

A statement read: “Robin Parkinson, actor, known for ‘Allo ‘Allo and as the voice of Button Moon, has died peacefully at the age of 92 with his wife and daughters by his side.”

‘Allo! ‘Allo! star passes away aged 92

The family of actor Robin Parkinson confirmed his passing, stating he died surrounded by loved ones.

Robinson appeared onstage in the West End, going on to make his way on TV by appearing on advertisements for Tunes and Babycham.

In the 1980s, the star voiced children’s show Button Moon before going on to work on sitcoms such as The Young Ones, Hi-de-Hi! and The Two Ronnies.

Perhaps most notably, Robin Parkinson played Monsieur Ernest Leclerc on Allo ‘Allo! in the 1990s.

Who are Robin Parkinson’s children?

Robin Parkinson is the father of three daughters. Sadly, the actor lost his daughter Sarah Parkinson in September 2003 after she battled breast cancer. She was just 41 years old at the time of her passing.

As reported by The Guardian, Sarah penned an article a year before her death, describing how she was coping with cancer. “When you are told you have cancer, the world stops,” she shared. “You feel as if you are watching everyone through a glass, brightly. They are alive. They know, or think, they will be alive next week, next year.”

Sarah inherited her father’s talent and embarked on an acting and writing career. She was a regular performer on Week Ending but was also credited for projects such as Room 101 and The South Bank Show.

Sarah was also in a relationship with stand-up comedian Paul Merton and the couple married in 2003.

Robin Parkinson’s daughter Rebecca followed in similar footsteps to her father and sister, going on to work in television production.

After graduating from the University of Bristol, Rebecca went on to work with the likes of Talent Television, September Films, Blink Films UK and she currently works at Production Company Merman. She has been married to TV producer Robert Katz since 2004.

Little information is known on Robin Parkinson’s other daughter.
