Burt Metcalfe, a well-known producer, director, and actor, just passed away at the age of 87. His role on the CBS war comedy-drama series M*A*S*H earned him praise.

Metcalfe passed away on July 27 from natural causes, according to his wife, actress Jan Jorden. His funeral’s specific details have not yet been released.

Janice Hope Jorden was born on September 8, 1942, to Frederic Eugene Jorden and Betty Jane Wilson. The 79-year-old well-known actress played Nurse Baker for five seasons of M*A*S*H.

Before becoming the show’s executive producer, she worked as a series line producer. She is best remembered for her involvement in the two and a half hour television movie Goodbye, Farewell and Amen, which served as the series finale of M*A*S*H in addition to her appearance in the show.

The actress has also acted in movies including The Last Married Couple in America, Lou Gehrig Story, and A Love Affair: The Eleanor.

In December 1979, Jorden wed Metcalfe. Metcalfe was previously wed to Toby Harry Shipman from 1961 to 1968, but this was Jorden’s first union.

While Jorden is a well-known name in the industry, little is known about her profession, educational history, or parents other than their names.

Born and reared in Montreal, Burt Metcalfe enlisted in the US Navy in 1956. At Ream Field in San Ydisro, California, he worked two years in public relations.

He collaborated with a handful of his friends to establish the Miss Angel beauty pageant while he was still serving in the Navy. After that, Metcalfe made his film debut in 1959 with Gidget before playing Tom Easton in a Death Valley Days episode.

In an episode of The Twilight Zone’s first season that aired in March 1960, he portrayed the part of Don Martin. From 1960 to 1961, he played Joe Brigham in the NBC sitcom Happy. From 1961 to 1962, he starred in the CBS sitcom Father of the Bride.

On the CBS legal programme Perry Mason, Burt had three cameos.

Metcalfe produced the CBS series M*A*S*H from 1972 to 1983 and rose to fame as the show’s writer.

He started out as an associate producer before moving up to line producer in 1976. However, he joined Warner Bros. Television in the 1980s and took on the role of executive producer for the programme in 1977.

Later, in November 1986, Burt joined MTM Enterprises as the executive producer and director of a number of programmes.
