BRITAIN’S toughest jail is ruled by 64 violent gangs whose members “fight each other on sight”, it is claimed.
Belmarsh, one of the UK’s three high-security jails, is torn apart by vicious criminal rivalries.
Ex-guard, George Shipton, said: “There are a lot of gangs here now. Before they might have thought twice because there’s a camera on them, but now they don’t give a s**t.
“They’ll stab another gang leader and they don’t care.”
Meanwhile Bobby Kasanga – a former member of gang The Peckham Boys who served six years in Belmarsh – told how which wing you were placed in could determine if you lived or died.
Bobby, who was jailed for multiple armed robberies in July 2012, said: “I had issues with different people (and), going in, you might meet the wrong person.

“If they put you in a wing where your ops – that’s your rival gang members – were, if they put you in that wing you’re done for.”
Former inmate Neil “Razor” Smith said: “Belmarsh is awash with heroin, you can get a bag of heroin easier than you can get a pillow.”
HMP Belmarsh: Maximum Security is on Wednesday at 9pm on Channel 5.
