A POLICE officer has been charged with two counts of rape after a woman was allegedly attacked.
PC Rowan Horrocks was off duty at the time of the alleged rape in South Yorkshire in November 2021.

Horrocks, who works for South Yorkshire Police’s response team in Sheffield, is currently suspended from duties.
The police have also announced that they have launched internal misconduct proceedings that are separate from the criminal justice process.
Head of the force’s Professional Standards Department Superintendent Delphine Waring said: “I know how understandably concerned our communities will be about this matter.

“I’d like to give my full assurance to the public that reports of this nature against one of our officers are treated incredibly seriously by the force.
“We remain committed to being as open as possible about the professional standards of South Yorkshire Police.

Horrocks will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court tomorrow.
