Kamran Haider, 39, shook Nusayba leaving her with catastrophic brain injuries.

Haider was today convicted of murder and child cruelty at the Old Bailey.

The coward, who refused to attend court, had a history of violence and abused a former girlfriend’s children to “teach them a lesson”.

Nusayba’s mum Asiyah Amazir today issued a powerful victim impact statement as she described her agony at not seeing her daughter grow up.

She said: “Nusayba was subjected to the most horrible experiences at the hands of this man towards the end of her life.

“I will never forget the events that led to her death for as long as I live. I vividly remember the things she suffered and that noise she made on the last day of her life will haunt me forever.

“There are also the other more obvious effects of this awful crime committed against my daughter.

“Things like I will never get to see her grow up, hear her first full sentence, see her first day at school, her first tooth loss, her first proper tantrum and all of the other beautiful milestones that a mother witnesses throughout her children’s lives.”

The mum also told how she will never again get to “kiss her tiny hands” or enjoy the other “most benign and underrated things that most take for granted as parents” that have been ripped from her.

She added: “Something as simple as changing her nappy or doing her laundry is now a heart breaking memory for me and these are just some of the life-long impacts of this crime that I’m able to verbalise.

“There are a million more things I am not able to think of words for, to be able to really explain the immediate and life-long impacts of my daughter being murdered, not just for me but also for the rest of her family and we will have to live with these things for the rest of our lives.”

Haider met Asiyah on a dating site in August 2019 and moved into her home in Newham, East London.

Two weeks before the fatal attack, Nusayba suffered a head injury while in his care but Haider claimed she had fallen in the kitchen.

But as time went on, the fiend became increasingly threatening towards the mum and daughter.

He would shove Nusayba in a corner, hit her on the hand during “time out” and made her adopt various “stress positions”.

If Asiyah intervened, Haider would slap her and accused her of being “too soft”.

HORROR ATTACK

On September 13, 2019, the mum was tending to the dogs in the garden when she heard the toddler crying.

She then heard Haider say “shut up, Nusayba” followed by a slapping sound and a “yelp”.

The tot later suffered a fit and Haider suggested to Asiyah she take her away to “relax”.

The mum left and called an ambulance from a bus stop – claiming her daughter had fitted while on a bus.

But she later admitted she was scared of her partner and the monster was arrested.

Little Nusayba was taken to hospital but sadly she couldn’t be saved and her life support was switched off.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith who led the investigation said: “Haider is a controlling and violent man who is prone to bouts of extreme aggression and violence. Nusayba bore the brunt of that violence on the day she was entrusted in Haider’s care and she suffered an attack that would lead to the end of her life.

“What happened on 13 September has never been fully established. But it is beyond doubt that the injuries inflicted on her could not have been accidental and were caused by Haider.

“Nusayba’s mother and family will grieve for many, many years as a result of this harrowing case. We will continue to support her however we can.

“I’d like to praise my officers, who have worked so hard to present the case against Haider which has led to his conviction. I hope now he will spend a very long time behind bars, where he belongs.”
