Tay K who was just 19 at the time, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murder charge, an additional 30 years for one count of aggravated robbery and a further two 13-year sentences for the other aggravated robbery charges.

The rapper, who turned 22, on Thursday, June 16, shared some birthday snaps of himself behind bars as fans took it to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

The rapper whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, was born on June 16, 2000 in Long Beach, California.

At just 17, the teen rapper released the hit “The Race” while a fugitive from the police after escaping house arrest.

The rapper got involved in a major criminal incident in July 2016, when he was arrested on capital murder charges alongside six others following the home invasion of a dealer in Mansfield, Texas.

However, the robbery turned wrong and Ethan Walker was killed.

Tay K who admitted his role in the robbery to the police was placed under house arrest in January 2017, while he awaited court hearings.

But just a few days before the hearings he and another suspect cut off their ankle monitors and fled to San Antonio, Texas.

The two of them allegedly shot dead a 23-year-old man, Mark Anthony Saldivar, during a robbery outside a Chick-fill-A.

He was captured in June 2017 and transferred to an adult jail the following month.

On his first day of the trial in July 2017, Tay K pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery in the home invasion case, but later a jury found him guilty of murder and of a third charge of aggravated robbery.

Because the prison sentences will be served concurrently, he will only be eligible for parole after 27.5 years – after January 23, 2047.
