Police arrested a man on Thursday for fatally shooting an employee at a Burger King in New York on Sunday.

Winston Glynn, 30, allegedly approached the register at the East Harlem Burger King and demanded money before shooting Kristal Bayron-Nieves, 19, and pistol-whipping a manager and customer. Glynn took $100 before fleeing the scene, according to WCBS.

Investigators reportedly used surveillance footage to identify Glynn — who worked at the same Burger King in 2020. Sources told the New York Post that Glynn had pictures on his Facebook page which showed him in the same clothes at the time of the murder.

According to WABC, Glynn was also linked to Bayron-Nieves’ slaying as he used an EBT card at a bodega after the shooting.

The NYPD said Bayron-Nieves was complying with Glynn’s demands when he fatally shot her. A source told the Post that Bayron-Nieves initially had trouble opening the drawer but she got it open and handed Glynn the money.

“There was no reason to shoot this young woman. Money had been handed over,” an NYPD official told WCBS. “She was killed for no apparent reason.”

Before the teen’s slaying, Glynn was reportedly arrested in late November for pulling a screwdriver on someone at a homeless shelter in Queens. Sources told the Post that he was also arrested in late December for weapons-related charges.

Glynn is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. WABC reported that the 9mm handgun used in Sunday’s shooting remains unaccounted for.
