The comments that Kim Kardashian made hit the world hard. Although she’s made multiple statements in the past about not listening to what people say on the internet, she couldn’t ignore it this time. After backlash over the controversial quote, Kardashian clarified the situation in an interview with Robin Roberts, where she explained that there was “no context” to what she said.

“Well that statement that I said was without questions and conversations around it, and it became a soundbite really with no context,” Kardashian said in the interview with Good Morning America. “I came off of the notion and the question right before, which was, ‘After 20 years of being in the business, you’re famous for being famous.’ And my whole tone and attitude changed with the previous question that went into that question about what advice would you give to women.”

For the record, she did not apologize for what she said. Instead, she explained that it was a tone issue. Which, you know, does explain why she was so firm in her delivery, but doesn’t actually change the sentiment of what she said in the original interview.
