The Street Man Fighter on Mnet: Release Information, Cast, and More

Mnet’s Street Man Fighter

Mnet’s Street Man Fighter

The much-anticipated air date for Mnet’s new dance competition program Street Man Fighter has been announced. The popular reality program Street Woman Fighter (SWF), which featured eight crews vying for the ultimate SWF championship, has a male counterpart in the reality show.

The purpose of the program is to increase awareness of the sometimes ignored dance community in the Korean music sector. Even some of the crews that took part in Street Woman Fighter were the faces behind some of the popular dance movements performed by K-pop stars.

The essential information regarding Mnet’s Street Man Fighter

There is a lot of information (and some disputes) that has made headlines with less than a month until eight dance crews compete for the title of Street Man Fighter. The idea was also slightly altered because BMbitious, a predecessor competition, was developed to have a project dance group.

Launch Date

On August 16 on Mnet, the well-liked dance crew competition program will return. The program will start airing at 10:20 KST.

Mnet had announced the show’s summer 2022 premiere date at the beginning of the year. It further stated that if problems involving dancers had not arisen, the performance might have been published sooner.

On October 29, just two days after Street Woman Fighter’s final episode aired, the all-male spin-off was revealed.

Meet the eight teams taking part in the Mnet spinoff

Street Man Fighter features eight crews competing for the title of Best Male Dance Crew in South Korea, much like Street Woman Fighter did.

BMbitious, a dance group that was recently formed in the prequel survival program of the same name, is one of them.

Every team is well-liked in the Korean dance scene. PRIME KINGZ has been on camera and interacted with viewers in Street Woman Fighter, whereas 1MILLION is renowned for teaching dance to a variety of idols. Then there is Just Jerk, a dance group with 92k Instagram followers that is extremely well-known.

Controversy before the film’s debut

Regrettably, Street Man Fighter encountered controversy right before its release. When the fans of the K-pop idol duo BTOB voiced their displeasure with one of Mnet’s crews, BANK TWO BROTHERS, the network came under fire.

The abbreviation used by the dance group, BIIB (pronounced “B to B”), is comparable to the one used by the K-pop group BTOB. In Korean, it is also written in the same way. Even the crew’s logo resembled the K-pop group’s earlier promotional materials.

Following significant protest and a notice from CUBE Entertainment, BTOB’s agency, Mnet announced to the audience that they will be changing the crew’s stylization and logo.

KANGDANIEL, a K-pop star, will serve as the host once more. When the program debuts on August 16, it will be interesting to watch if Mnet modifies the regulations and who wins the title of Best Male Dance Crew.
