Novak Djokovic has powered his way into the third round at Wimbledon and has shown all the signs that he is ready to push all the way into The Championships in 2022.
The six-time champion at SW19 blew his opponent away in the second round. Djokovic defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-1 6-4 6-2 following one of the most eye-catching displays of the tournament so far. It was a show of force on Centre Court.
The Serbian superstar will be kept apart from Rafael Nadal until the final, should they both continue to win matches and advance through the rounds.
Djokovic enters The Championships as clear favourite to win given his dominance over the men’s game and the absence of No.2 Daniil Medvedev.
However, the reigning champion has experienced a bumpy year to say the least. He was denied entry to Australia – and therefore the Australian Open – due to his COVID vaccination status and has seen Medvedev snap at his heels in 2022.

[1] Novak Djokovic v Miomir Kecmanovic [25]
Kecmanovic is Djokovic’s first seeded opponent of the tournament so far and will provide plenty of threat in their third round encounter.
The 22-year-old was born in Belgrade, Serbia – the same city as Djokovic – and grew up idolising the six-time Wimbledon champion. The pair were set to face each other in Australia before Djokovic’s visa issues ruled him out of the competition.
