When he appeared on “Lip Sync Battle” in 2017, Tom Holland brought the house down with his rendition of superstar and makeup mogul Rihanna‘s “Umbrella.” Dressed in all-black attire, fishnet tights, and a wig inspired by Rihanna’s own music video look, Holland started off with a tap routine to Gene Kelly’s “Singin’ In The Rain” before ripping off his suit to transform into a true pop star (via YouTube). He competed against co-star Zendaya, who performed Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic.”
His battle was met with thunderous applause and is beloved by fans even today, five years later. However, he did open up about the one thing he regrets during his now famous performance. Holland revealed that he was originally asked to perform the routine in heels but declined, feeling he couldn’t perform as well in them. The actor went on to say that he should have taken the opportunity to dance in heels, stating, “I wish I had now. That would have shut things down” (via People).
