In the most recent episode of America’s Got Talent (AGT), which aired on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, Acapop Kids, who are contestants on Season 17, fully won over the judges with their acapella performance. They charmed the audience with their upbeat demeanor as well.
Members of the Grammy-winning acapella group Pentatonix, including Scott Hoying (co-founder), Ben Bram (arranger and producer), Jonathan Kalter (manager), and Shams Ahmed (vocalist), co-founded the AGT participants (creative director, arranger, and producer).
AGT contestants Acapop Kids encompass a wide range of talents
Pentatonix created the well-known acapella group in 2019. The creators of PTX stated in May 2018 that they were seeking young singers and beatboxers for an audition for a new group that they were aiming to form from around the USA and Canada.
Over 80 children signed up for the tryouts, which were held in four cities—Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, and Miami—and joined a well-known acapella ensemble. Scott Hoying, a PTX member, established Acapop Kids in 2019 with participants who were 17 years old or younger.
Hoying discussed the organization in an interview with Cision PR Newswire Chicago, saying:
“One of the most satisfying experiences I’ve ever had was working with these youngsters. They have an unlimited supply of skill, are incredibly kind, and work extraordinarily hard for someone their age or any age. I can’t wait for everyone to see how bright they are!”
The American Idol competitors have performed on a variety of stages, including The Kelly Clarkson Show, where they delivered a medley of her own songs. They continued making short films dubbed Acapop Minis despite the pandemic delaying the release of some of their tracks.
