She was 18 when she began her career in radio continuity; her uncle encouraged her to join the job as he always saw her reading Bible.

Kasavuli worked for several prestigious television networks before becoming the country’s first female news anchor.

Catherine Kasavuli Sickness Before Death

Catherine Kasavuli, 60, passed away the night of December 29, 2022, and the news of her demise was confirmed this morning.

She left her body while battling cervical Cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to Wikipedia, she had been receiving treatment since October 2022 and had spent more than three months in the hospital.

After she was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital in late October with cervical cancer, her friends in the media industry rallied people to donate blood for an urgent transfusion.

Following the news about her death from Cancer, her close friend from the media posted condolence to her family via Twitter.

Her family learned about her death on the night of December 29, but the news in public was realized this morning.

Worldwide, Cervical Cancer ranks as the fourth most frequently diagnosed Cancer and the fourth leading cause of Cancer death in women, yet it is a preventable disease.

Kasavuli was getting weak daily because of the disease; doctors were asking his family to take care of her in every possible way.

But unfortunately, she did not make it for long, but she was surrounded by her family last night.

Her family often visited her, and her colleagues were present more often to be with her during her hard time.

Kasavuli has one son, Martin, who was born in 1981; more information about Martin’s Father has yet to be disclosed in public.

But her son Martin was there for her and was often together to support and battle her Cancer.

Kasavuli’s funeral will probably be organized at any time soon, and family and friends will gather.

Since the 1980s, Kasavuli, often known as the TV queen because she has played a significant role in Kenyan media.

Before retiring, she was one of the first anchors to host a live television program for a TV station in the 1990s.
