THE CHINESE New Year celebration is one of New York City’s best offerings with artistry, dancing and cultural immersion.
On Sunday, February 20th the 2022 Chinese New Year parade kicks off from the corner of Mott and Canal Street in New York City’s Lower Manhattan.

Starting at 1:00pm performers and paraders will take to the street in celebration of Chinese New Year.
The annual parade will march from Lower Manhattan to Chinatown’s Chatham Square and then travel east to the mouth of the Manhattan Bridge, where the parade will enter its concluding straightaway down Chrystie Street to Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
The parade will end at 4:30pm but New Yorkers will doubtlessly continue the festivities in New York City’s Bowery and Chinatown districts.
In China, employees are given a full week or more away from work to welcome the new year.
Other Eastern nations celebrate the Lunar New Year with festivities of their own.

Do I need tickets to go to New York City’s Chinese New Year parade?
According to BetterChinatown, the parade is free and open to the public.
Commercial booths will be open starting at 12:00pm at Kimlau Square in Chinatown for parade attendees looking for souvenirs and gifts.
