CUSTOMERS who blasted an “utterly disgusting” takeaway with “extremely rude” staff quickly learned they’d bitten off more than they could chew.

Diners posting bad reviews of the Trinidad Roti Shop in Harlesden, London have faced a stern slapping down from the eatery’s owners.

The restaurant has three stars out of five on TripAdvisor – and its guests are wildly divided in their opinions.

Just a fortnight ago, one visitor alleged they’d been served “raw meat” – before being verbally abused when they called to complain.

“Owner called me ‘stupid’ and told me to ‘f*** off’,” they wrote.

“I spent a total of £57 which I will be claiming back through my bank and reporting the shop to Trading Standards.”

Another diner hit out: “I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone. Waste of time and money.”

This time, the owner posted their own spicy feedback online.

“Taste is subjective unlike your spelling,” they wrote.

“Probably your autocorrect hates you like the rest of the universe.”

Another customer was hit with a zinger when they complained of a “dry” mutton roti and urged others: “Go McDonald’s instead of buying this rubbish.”

The owner hit back: “The phrase ‘stay in your lane’ applies to this review.”

A third diner said staff at the takeaway have an “unnecessary attitude” – and the customer service is “the worst in north-west London”.

Under that poor review, the owner posted: “You keep on asking the same questions every time so we’re actually quite pleased you’ve moved on to traumatise other establishments.”

The bitter exchanges were spotted by writer Simran Randhawa, who posted them on Twitter.

She joked: “Looking for roti shops and I can’t with this place and their responses to bad reviews.”

However, many reviews describe the food as “beautiful” and the staff as “polite and helpful” – proving that not everyone is having quite the same experience.

It’s not the first time a restaurateur has refused to take TripAdvisor criticism lying down.

SERIOUS BEEF

The boss of Giuseppe’s Restaurant and Bar in Turton, Lancashire accused one visitor of “slander” after they alleged the “smug” chef toured the floor to “tell everyone how great his food was”.

And a chef at a restaurant in Chester hit back at one reviewer who said the food was a “total rip off”.

Gary Usher posted a savage response to the angry one-star review – asking the customer to “be kind” to his “humble neighbourhood bistro”.

The user said the Sticky Walnut eatery had an “eye-wateringly expensive steak” on the menu which “wasn’t worth it”.

They finished their post: “Avoid this place like the plague.”
