AN abandoned flamingo chick is being successfully raised by two feathered fathers.
Keepers gave the egg to males Hudson and Blaze after it was rejected by its parents.

Fortunately the couple took over and ensured the chick hatched without incident[/caption]
The lads sat tight on the egg until it hatched at Whipsnade Zoo, Beds.
Keeper Tim Savage said: “They sat with it for two weeks, keeping it warm and protecting it from the others.
“Flamingos usually work together.
“Hudson and Blaze have proved ideal parents.”

They feed the chick on red “crop milk” made in their digestive tracts.
