A FORMER mayor who is accused of posing as a war hero bought his ­uniform on eBay, his estranged wife said.

Pete Jackson, 65, claimed to have been in the Royal Military Police but lived a double life, according to Fiona, 60.

She said: “He told me he’d been given the uniform but I checked his eBay account and he bought it.

“I presumed the medals were real but obviously not. I feel like the whole 20 years I was with him was a lie.”

Jackson, a former mayor of Otley, West Yorks, ran a pub with Fiona but left their home in April.

He is on holiday with a new partner.

The council, the Liberal Democrats and the MoD are all investigating.
