A FORMER primary school teacher who was filmed slapping and kicking a horse has DENIED animal cruelty.
Sarah Moulds, 37, plead not guilty to grabbing the animal before slapping it repeatedly as it tried to pull away during a hunt last year in Lincolnshire.
She was charged with two Animal Welfare offences after the RSPCA launched an investigation.
The mum-of-two today plead not guilty to causing grey pony Bruse unnecessary suffering during an appearance at Lincoln Crown Court.
She also denied failing to take reasonable steps to protect the pony from pain, suffering or injury.
Moulds, who is well known in the equestrian community, was taking part in a Cottesmore Hunt meet on November 6 last year in countryside known as “The Drift” in Gunby.
Footage of the gathering was shared by Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs – an anti-hunting group – who monitored the event.
The mum lives with her plumber husband Daniel and children in the village of Somerby, Leicestershire, where she had worked as a teacher.
After anti-hunt saboteurs released the clip, she received death threats and was forced into hiding with her family.
