FORMER Sun journalist Bobbie Whiteman has died aged 62.

Bobbie was a hugely popular and talented sub-editor who joined The Sun in 1986.

Former Sun journalist and talented sub-editor Bobbie Whiteman has died aged 62

She grew up in West London and started her career in local newspapers before spending three years as a reporter for Doctor magazine.

After leaving The Sun, Bobbie moved to California.

There, she joined Variety magazine as a copy editor before taking on the role of foreign news editor.

She left Variety in 2013 and worked as a reporter and copy editor for Mail Online, The Wrap and LA Weekly.

Former colleague and long-time friend Sebastian O’Kelly said: “She was always sunny and positive and truly beloved.”

Bobbie leaves her husband of ten years John, a stepson, stepdaughter and a brother.
