The troops, whose ranks have been kept secret by the MoD, kept their jobs despite being convicted of sex offences.

The scandal emerged after The Sun told how disgraced 3 Para troops had been banned from a Nato deployment for filming an orgy on base.
A Freedom of Information probe revealed the number of serving soldiers who were registered sex offenders.
All ten kept their post under a loophole which was only closed in April.
Before then, MoD policy meant termination of service was only an “option” for any sex offenders.

Since March 30, those convicted face the sack automatically.
Last night, Labour’s Shadow Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard blasted: “Letting sexual predators stay in post is sickening and ministers should not be allowing them to wear our nation’s uniform.
“Being a sexual predator and serving your country are incompatible.”
Whitehall sources last night admitted ministers are weighing up further options.

An MoD spokesman told The Sun: “There is no place for this type of behaviour in the Armed Forces.
“This year, we published a zero-tolerance to sexual offending policy which introduced mandatory discharge for anyone convicted of a sexual offence, including anyone on the Sex Offenders Register.”
