A Woolworths employee has gone viral online after sharing how customers can leave personalised messages to team members when ordering groceries online.

Sydney staff member Liam Kirley, who runs the official Woolworths TikTok page, shared a video detailing how to add notes to an order.   

The feature provides shoppers with a chance to tell team to select ripened fruit, to choose items with particular use-by dates and to simply thank them for their work.  

Personalised notes came at a time when online orders are at their peak due to Covid-19 having impacted the way Australians shop.

The feature provides shoppers with a chance to tell team to select ripened fruit, to choose items with particular use-by dates and to simply thank them for their work

To leave a personalised note simply select a food item or product on the Woolworths app. 

Then click on the tab labelled ‘add personal shopper note’ and write a message to the team member selecting your food.

The team member will receive the message while they scan the particular food item and complete the order. 

In the video, Liam demonstrates the easy process by ordering a box of Lindt assorted chocolate balls then adds the message ‘Thanks for all your hard work! Happy New Year’, as an example.

Woolworths’ team members have praised the new feature and shared how much they appreciate the messages.

‘It is so appreciated! Makes our days just that little bit better,’ a team member wrote.

‘It’s very much appreciated, trust me we do notice it. We’ve received such lovely notes from customers and it’s amazing,’ another added.

Woolworths’ shoppers have also shared their thoughts on the app feature and how it is both a helpful and humble element to the store.

‘So you’re now telling me I can ask team to choose perfectly ripe avocados! This is a great idea,’ a customer wrote. 

‘This is so great. The team have definitely helped out big time with my online shopping during Covid. I’ll be sure to leave a note thanking them next order,’ another wrote.
