Hugh Jackman appears to be doing swimmingly after testing positive for COVID-19 again last week.

The actor, 53, was spotted splashing around in the river in East Hamptons New York on Monday.

Hugh put his rippling abs on display as he swam through the water, before dashing onto the shore with his buff biceps flexed.

His black hair was slicked back wet as he strolled about the pebbly beach wearing just a pair of black trunks and grey trainers.

When Hugh wasn’t taking a dip in the ocean, he was also spotted fully-clothed with his towel wrapped thrown over his shoulders.

He concealed his gym-honed abs with a plain white T-shirt.

Despite his recent diagnosis, Hugh appeared in good spirits.

He also looked happy and healthy in a video to sent to fans on Sunday, wishing everyone a happy Father’s Day from the beach.

‘Happy Father’s Day!’ he said to the camera before blowing a kiss.

The outing comes a week after Hugh announced he had tested positive for COVID-19 again, meaning he would have to temporarily step away from his Broadway production of The Music Man.

‘I’ve frustratingly tested positive for Covid. Again. My standby, the amazingly talented @maxmclayton will step in for me,’ Jackman began in the video.

‘What’s most annoying is I don’t get to see him perform! I’ve said it before, and will say it a million times more … Maxi and all the standbys, swings and understudies around the world, you are the true heroes of theater,’ he added.

‘You give life to the saying “the show must go on”’ Jackman concluded, while tagging his co-star Sutton Foster (@suttonlenore) and @musicmanbway.

Jackman added in the video, ‘I wanted you guys to hear it from me first that, unfortunately this morning I have frustratingly tested positive for COVID, again.’

‘So, my incredible stand-by, Max Clayton, is going to go on for me,’ he said of his understudy in The Music Man.

‘Max and I have been been working together on this show for over two years and on this part, and I can tell you, from being in the room with him and from experience, he is absolutely extraordinary,’ Jackman added.

Jackman added that he was just, ‘frustrated that I won’t get to see him and cheer him on, but I will be cheering you on in my heart, Max.’

‘To everyone, my whole cast of The Music Man, I hate not being there with you, but I’ll be back as soon as I can,’ he added.

The actor continued that his setback is just, ‘another reminder’ that he will say, ‘a million times over that the real heroes of Broadway are standbys, understudies and swings, and never has that been more obvious than in the past year.’

He added that standbys, understudies and swings, ‘give meaning to the phrase, “the show must go on,” and it will go on and be amazing.’

He told Clayton, ‘to have the best time and I’ll be back at River City as soon as I can,’ as the video came to an end.

Hugh previously tested positive for COVID in December 2021, and had to step aside from The Music Man at that time as well.
