A THIEVING neighbour has been caught on camera stealing tomatoes from a disabled man’s garden, seemingly to make salads that she posted on Facebook.
Charles Nippard, 86, joined forces with his daughter to catch the thief who had made off with his hard-grown produce.

Another neighbour kindly warned them that the thief had been spotted entering their garden in Poole, Dorset and gave them a photo of her in action.
In the picture, we see the fruit snatcher exiting the garden with a tomato-laden vine in each hand.
As well as several lbs of tomatoes going missing, Mr Nippard and his daughter suspect the woman of the theft of around 40 red onions that they had laid out to dry.
Derri-Anne Beck, 52, Charles’ daughter, posted the photo of the woman on social media to try and shame her into keeping her paws off his garden.

She received a number of private messages in response, all giving the same name for the suspect.
Mrs Beck said: “She has decimated about half of the tomatoes and taken about 40 red onions.”
“My father grows all the seedlings on his windowsills and I help him plant them out in raised beds and maintain them and harvest them.”
“A neighbour came round and explained she had taken a photo on her mobile phone from out of her window of a woman who was stealing our tomatoes.”

“You can clearly see this woman walking off out our garden with each hand full of green tomatoes.”
Outrageously, judging by her Facebook, if the woman has been accused correctly then she has been using her ill-gotten fruit and veg to make delicious-looking salads which she has posted online.
“On her Facebook page there are several photos of some side salads she has made with main meals and you wonder ‘are they our tomatoes?”, says Derri-Anne.
She says she’s confronted the thief directly and asked her to stop, as she thinks that going to the police would to pointless.
