A NEW book claims the strong working relationship between President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris may not be what it seems.

In This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future, authors Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns also detail supposed tension between Harris and First Lady Jill Biden.

Multiple excerpts from the book have already been released, with a particularly juicy one claiming that Harris and the president have had a “friendly but not close” personal relationship.

Other claims from the book include that Biden’s comms director, Kate Bedingfield, took shots at Harris and her political career.

“Her Senate office had been messy and her presidential campaign had been a fiasco. Perhaps, she suggested, the problem was not the vice president’s staff,” Martin and Burns wrote.

However, in an email to Politico, Bedingfield blasted the book: “The fact that no one working on this book bothered to call to fact check this unattributed claim tells you what you need to you,” she wrote.

Bedingfield called Harris a “force in this administration” and said “I have the utmost respect for the work she does every day to move the country forward.”

The authors said that Harris doesn’t want to only work on issues related to women and Black Americans. But in her attempts to pave the way on voting rights, she has apparently felt stumped by the president’s reluctance to serious Senate reform.

According to the book, which is set to be published on May 3, 2022, some drama stems from the supposed feud between first lady Jill Biden and the vice president.

Jill reportedly wasn’t a fan of her husband’s choice of Harris as his running mate, reportedly asking: “There are millions of people in the United States. Why… do we have to choose the one who attacked Joe?”

DEBATE DRAMA

Harris allegedly got on the bad side of the first lady after the first Democratic presidential debate. Harris and Biden got into a heated exchange where Harris called him out for working with segregationists.

“I do not believe you are racist,” Harris said to the former vice president on his opposition to federally mandated bussing.

“But I also believe, and it is personal — it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and careers on the segregation of race in this country.”

A Politico Magazine article quoted Jill as saying: “With what he cares about, what he fights for, what he’s committed to, you get up there and call him a racist without basis? Go f**k yourself.”

She was later confronted about the remark and gave Harris a hug on camera saying: “That was two years ago. We’ve moved on from that.”

However, people on social media have speculated that Jill didn’t actually “move on” from those comments.

The first lady’s spokesperson, Michael LaRosa issued a statement about the supposed feud in the past, saying: “Many books will be written on the 2020 campaign, with countless retellings of events — some accurate, some inaccurate. The First Lady and her team do not plan to comment on any of them.”

The Sun has reached out to both the Biden and Harris’ spokespeople for comment.
