Did Nathan Ricks Die In An Airplane Crash?
Nathan Ricks was killed in a small plane crash at Provo Municipal Airport. Ricks was piloting the plane, which was carrying three passengers, when it crashed shortly after takeoff.
Nu Skin issued the following statement after Ricks was identified as the plane crash fatality.
According to Provo City officials, the private plane crashed “immediately after takeoff” at about 11:35 am.
One person died at the scene, another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while two others had “just minor bumps and bruises.”
Friends informed KSL TV reporter Karah Brackin that Ricks died while driving his wife and two friends to the Rose Bowl game in California.
People have expressed their condolences and shared their grief through Facebook posts. According to officials, the airport will stay closed until Wednesday while the Provo disaster investigation proceeds.
Ricks has a family friend named Diana Zisserman. Ricks, she said, was extremely careful, according to KSL TV. He had been flying his plane for years and had never taken undue risks.
Nathan Ricks Plane Crash: His Wife & Two Friends Injured
According to Provo airport authorities, Brent Beardall, 51, of Sammamish, Washington, was badly injured but is likely to recover. Joyce Ricks, 62, and Dane Margetts, 36, both Holladay, had minor injuries.
Ricks’ wife was first transported to the hospital, but according to acquaintances, she has been discharged.
“We are very appreciative for the outpouring of compassion from our friends, neighbors, and community in the aftermath of Nathan’s death,” the Ricks family stated in a statement to KUTV 2News.
“We had to say goodbye to a loving husband, Father, mentor, friend, and Leader. He lived life to the fullest, especially the amazing people he met worldwide via his business endeavors.”
Approximately ten inbound and ten outbound flights were canceled on Monday, forcing hundreds of passengers to find alternative transportation. On Tuesday, Allegiant Air announced the cancellation of an additional 12 flights.
Several others flocked to social media late Monday and Tuesday to express their condolences and honor Ricks as a mentor and friend. His family has stated that he will be missed.
