SINCE the early days of the pandemic, there has been an uptick of people joining “pay-per-view” sites with OnlyFans being one of the most popular.

As unemployment reached worrying heights, OnlyFans had a reported 75 percent hike in “model sign-ups” in April 2020.

The most successful content creators have usually been models, porn stars or celebrities that already have large followings on social media.

These people are able to send their followers to their OnlyFans account to pay for subscriptions in ways that the average user might not be able to.

“It is already an incredibly saturated market,” said Angela Jones, an associate professor of sociology at the State University of New York at Farmingdale.

“The idea that people are just going to open up an OnlyFans account and start raking in the dough is really misguided.”

However, some people were able to quit their day jobs in order to rake in the big bucks from the adult entertainment website.

TEACHER

Monica Huldt used to teach history and religious education to students aged 13-16 in Eslov, Sweden. However, she left her job over seven years ago after moving to the US.

She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she lives with her husband John.

She worked a string of different jobs before turning her attention to modeling and Instagram, where she has 255,000 followers.

Monica later started making content on OnlyFans, where she says some of her former students had subscribed to her.

“At first it felt kinda odd but I don’t really care – they’re over 18, they can do what they want. But I was quite surprised when they first messaged me.”

Monica says her new lifestyle has given her more freedom to take care of herself.

“I work out five times a week because my timetable allows me to, I don’t have to worry about rushing home from work.”

OPTICIAN

Jenna Phillips ditched her job as an optician to make over six figures as a “puppy girl” on OnlyFans.

On her account, Jenna crawls on the floor with a leash around her neck and even barks at other people. The act earns her millions of views for each video.

Jenna started her OnlyFans account while working as an optician in Austin, Texas.

She told Vice that she only posted “vanilla content” for a month, before meeting two men in Chicago who persuaded her to give the “pet play” fetish a go.

Jenna said that much of her revenue comes from fans requesting custom videos – with one follower stumping up $1000 for a single piece of footage

She explained: “I feel like a dog. I just want to roll around, play fetch, get head scratches, run around and play. All of that.”

She added: “I really love praise. I love hearing ‘good girl’. It makes my heart melt every time.”

While it may be strange to others, Jenna says she feels “in her element” when she’s creating her content.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT

Despite making a lot of cash on OnlyFans, former flight attendant, Amanda Sommer, says her new job keeps getting her dumped by men.

Amanda used to work as cabin crew for RyanAir when she heard about OnlyFans. She started making content without her boyfriend’s knowledge.

“He said to me it’s basically cheating which I don’t believe it is. He gave me an ultimatum and said to me either you stop doing OnlyFans or I’m leaving, and I said the fact that I have an income comes first so I have to choose OnlyFans.”

Now, besides raking in over $20k a month, Amanda says her dating life has struggled.

“I’m very frustrated because I just can’t seem to hold down a boyfriend at all because of this. I just think guys should be more open-minded. It’s not fair.”

When asked if she would consider dating someone from OnlyFans, Amanda said: “Oh no definitely not, I don’t see it like that I only see it as a way to make money.”

POLICE OFFICER

After more than 11 years at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Melissa Williams said she was forced to “retire” after her colleagues discovered her OnlyFans account.

Melissa began making content on the site in May 2020 to spice up her sex life with her husband.

“My personal sex life was entirely separate and never affected my ability to do my job,” the ex-cop told Jam Press.

But then Melissa’s colleagues had started signing up to her page to “investigate her conduct” and shared her images to the local force and jail staff.

She says her boss learned of the act and filed a complaint against her.

“I was never in uniform in any of my images. I used a fake persona – most of my fans think I’m a stay-at-home mom. It felt like my bosses were policing my bedroom.”

Melissa said that being a police officer was a dream of hers from the age of 14.

“I loved my job – but how could I go back to work in an environment like that? It was hard being a woman in the force. People have always been jealous of me because I am successful, attractive and confident.”

NURSE

Allie Rae was given an ultimatum to delete her OnlyFans account or quit her job as a nurse after some coworkers discovered her online content.

She said she chose to stick with her online services, which pull in an average of $65,000 to $75,000 per month.

Allie had decided to become a nurse after seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina while stationed in New Orleans in the Navy.

While she described her 14-hour days as “taxing” and “draining,” Allie told the outlet that she began posting revealing photos of herself on Instagram and The Chive, under the alias Allie Rae, to blow off some steam.

In December 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, some other nurses at her job saw her photos online and reported them.

“They got the director involved and it was, ‘You need to get rid of this account or we can’t have you working here.’ That really bothered me,” she said.

So Allie, a 37-year-old mom of three, decided to quit, noting how much more she made on OnlyFans.

“I was making more money on OnlyFans than I was as a nurse and was only doing it because I loved it — but once I became ‘the girl who does OnlyFans,’ it tore me apart,” she said.

Rae’s now pulling in an average of $65,000 to $75,000 a month through a combination of subscriptions and pay-per-view clips.

“It’s a full-time job for me now, but I never want it to feel like I’m ‘selling myself’ online. It’s just us having fun and enjoying ourselves.”

CLERGYWOMAN

Nikole Mitchell worked as a clergywoman and was even celibate for six years before joining OnlyFans.

The mother-of-three rakes in over $100k a month thanks to the adult content she produces.

“I just wrapped up another TV segment on Fox26 and I’m in AWE of all the dreams that have come true this year,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Going viral. Being interviewed around the world. Being sought out as a life coach expert on TV. Filming my first lead in a film.

“Being reached out by celebrities and stars who want to connect and collaborate.

“Making more money in a month than I used to make in a year. Meeting the most amazing humans.”

Nikole became disillusioned with Christianity after mentions of her mixed-race heritage and bisexuality were edited out of sermons – so she quit in 2017.
