The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation orders in multiple surrounding areas.
The American Red Cross has opened an evacuation center at West Valley High School to assist those affected, KRCR reported.
Crews first responded to the fire on Thursday afternoon.
Cal Fire initially said that 15 acres had burned with structures “threatened.”
