The Malaysian football community is mourning the death of the late player, who leaves behind three young children. Perumal played for the now-defunct PKNS, Selangor, and Kedah during his Malaysian Premier League career.

Who was Rajes Perumal?

Rajes Perumal was a Malaysian professional football player. Born on July 21, 1985, Perumal played as a right-back for the Malaysian Premier League club Petaling Jaya (PJ City City FC). He also played with a number of other clubs in his MPL career.

Perumal played for Selangor PKNS FC from 2011 to 2013. He won the 2011 Malaysia Premier League title with the club. After that, he was transferred to Selangor in 2014 and made his debut against T-Team as a substitute on January 18, 2014.

The next year, Perumal was transferred to Kedah where he became a regular player. He made 15 appearances for the team and won MPL with the club in 2015. He was then promoted to the Super League and made 23 overall appearances.

In 2016, Perumal returned to PKNS and signed with MISC-MIFA (now PT City FC) later in 2018. He scored 20 league appearances in the first season. Perumal played last for the side against Kuala Lumpur City on October 15, 2022.

Rajes Perumal died on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the age of just 37 years. He passed away after succumbing to the injuries sustained in a bike accident near Batu Caves, Selangor.

The unfortunate news of Rajes Perumal’s tragic death was announced by PJ City and the Professional Footballers’ Association of Malaysia (PFAM) through an official statement on Twitter.

Fans are sending condolences to the family of the late player who passed away on an untimely basis.

What was his cause of death?

Rajes Perumal died after a tragic motorcycle accident that left him severely injured. He was rushed to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The exact cause of his death is unannounced at the time of writing.

Tributes have emerged for the late player, Rajes Perumal, following his untimely death, led by Coach P. Maniam. He described the event as a huge loss to the club and the entire football industry in Malaysia.

“It is very devastating to hear about his death early in the morning. On the other side, his youngest child is only eight months old,” Maniam told to NST today.

Fans also joined him to pay respect to the departed soul. Perumal leaves behind his wife and three children.
