CHECK out this robin fed breast, spotted in a back garden.
Snapper Simon Woodley, 60, said in Sunderland: “He looks like a tennis ball with a head on.”
“Then he turned his head and looked directly into the lens of my camera.
“We have been having a lot of misery in the news recently, but this really made me smile.”
Robins feed ahead of winter as the cold temperatures and snow can make their food supply difficult to find.
The birds also plump up the feathers to keep warm in, giving them the appearance that they’re carrying extra weight.
But despite their cute appearance, robins are fiercely territorial and work hard to create their nesting and feeding patch.
