Who is Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers?

Despite being an Arizona senator, Rogers was not always an Arizonian.

Rogers was born on July 24, 1954 in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The 67-year-old attended three different universities to fulfill her education.

In 1976 she attended Michigan State University, then in 1977 she moved onto The University of Alabama.

In 1986 she concluded her studies in California at California State University of San Bernardino.

Rogers earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and then a master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Clinical Social Work.

Rogers belongs to the Republican Party and is serving the constituents of District 6 in Arizona.

She is often in the news for her controversial, right-leaning opinions.

The senator has a long history of family who served the country, as she is the daughter of a long line of Army officers.

In 1981, Wendy Rogers became one of the first 100 women pilots in today’s Air Force by earning her wings at Williams AFB in Arizona.

Later on she also served as a flight instructor for cadets at the US Air Force Academy.

Rogers retired from the Air Force in 1996 after twenty years of active duty.

Is Wendy Rogers married?

The senator is in fact married and has been for over 40 years.

Rogers married former Air Force officer Hal Kunnen in 1978.

The couple also started their own home inspection business together after retiring from the Air Force.

During their 44-year-marriage they had two children: Emily and George Kunnen.

According to the Arizona State Legislature website the couple chose to retire in Flagstaff, AZ.

The site also states that Rogers is able to pilot her own aircraft into many of the short-field runways in remote rural areas of Flagstaff.

The senator is very active on social media like Twitter.
