Raymond Dokpesi

Raymond Dokpesi started working for the Nigerian Ports Authority as Bamanga Tukur’s assistant after receiving his degree from the university. Later, he began working for the Federal Ministry of Transportation as a civil servant.

Dr. Raymond Dokpesi actively contributed to his field of study, but he never lost sight of his first passion: the entertainment and show business industry. His passion for the entertainment business began during his first years of high school.

He was a founding member of Ozolua Playhouse, a dance-drama group. In order to fulfill his dreams, Raymond made the decision to take it a step further. He was unable to start his entertainment platform because the National Broadcasting Commission Decree only allowed government-owned broadcasting companies to control Nigerian broadcasting.

Dokpesi and his Company were charged in 2015 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria with illegally receiving money from Colonel Sambo Dasuki, a former National Security Advisor (NSA), that was deemed to be the proceeds of crime.

He entered a not-guilty plea to the charges. After the prosecution rested its case in November 2018 after presenting 14 witnesses, he went one step further and submitted a no-case submission.

Where Is Nigerian Media Entrepreneur Raymond Dokpesi Now?

Police in the United Kingdom has released Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

Dokpesi had been cleared of the N2.1 billion fraud charges brought by the EFCC by the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. Justice John Tsoho, the trial judge, rejected the no-case submission and required Dokpesi and his Company to present their case.

Unhappy with the decision, the defendants petitioned the Court of Appeal to reverse it and acquit him of all charges on the grounds that the prosecution had failed to make a compelling case. Many people expressed their love, prayers, and support in response to the news of the incident. Chief Dokpesi would like to thank them and reassure them that he is healthy.
