FORTNITE, the popular battle royale game, might be adding new DC characters to the game, including the first trans character.

The game is known for its crossovers with popular characters from TV, games and film, such as the recent Dragon Ball collaboration.

As reported by TheGamer, Dreamer, a superhero from DC’s Supergirl TV series, is rumoured to enter the game next month.

The rumoured addition of Fortnite’s first trans fighter is likely part of the game’s Rainbow Royale event.

The new event hopes to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.

It includes free rainbow themed cosmetics available via the shop.

A number of new songs performed by queer artists such as Lil Nas X have also been added.

The leaks show six new characters, including three from Destiny and two characters who appear to be original designs alongside Dreamer.

Bungie has a number of openly gay characters in the Destiny games, and the ones included in the leaks have links to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Destiny’s Ikora Rey has had a lesbian relationship in the past, and Exo Stranger’s sister, Ana Bray, has been confirmed as gay by the developers.

In an unusual twist, Dreamer was a character created for the Supergirl TV show, who was then later added into the DC comics.

She is the first transgender superhero portrayed in a TV show, and played by trans actor Nicole Maines.

Each of the six leaked characters will also reportedly come with a range of items suggested to be available shortly in the Fortnite store.

Dreamer and the other five characters are yet to be officially revealed, so it is unclear if and when they will enter the game.

However, due to the LGBTQIA+ Rainbow Royale event, if the leak is true, we can guess when these characters and items will enter Fortnite.

With the event taking place all of next month, the characters are likely to enter Fortnite this September.
