SUCH is TikTok’s influence on modern culture, it’s difficult to believe that it was only introduced to app stores in the last five years.

The maximum video time for TikTok was increased to 10 minutes in 2022.
In the previous year it had be upped from one minute to three, having initially been just 15 seconds, then 60 seconds.
Announcing the new bumper video length, a spokesperson for TikTok said: “We’re always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience.
“Last year, we introduced longer videos, giving our community more time to create and be entertained on TikTok.”

How to make a long TikTok video
A big part of TikTok’s appeal is the ease with which people with little or no experience of editing video can produce engaging content.

In order to produce your own TikTok, follow these simple steps.
- Open the app and press the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen
- Select pre-recorded video from your device or use the TikTok camera
- Add whatever sounds, video effects or filters you want
- Press the “record” button to start rolling
- Once you’re done, press the “check” mark
- On the post page, you can then make further edits
- And finally, once you’re happy with it, share it with the world!
How to make a TikTok with multiple videos
If you want to get really fancy and create a narrative, you could try doing a TikTok with multiple clips.

It’s incredibly easy to do, using the following steps:
- Once again, open the app and press the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen
- Record your clips (each video will end when you press record, so you can start the next one).
- Alternatively, if you want to add pre-recorded videos saved on your phone, you can upload them by selecting “Effects” and then pressing “Green Screen Video”.
- Once you’ve got all your material in the can, you can then move them around by selecting the red checkmark in the bottom right, and then pressing “Adjust Clips”
- Once you’re happy with the cuts, and it ready to post!
What is the best video length for a TikTok?
Though TikTokers have been able to produce increasingly longer form content on the platform, it seems short videos are still the most effective.
But social media management platform Hootsuite say brevity is still the soul of wildly viral content on the social media giant.
