Rebel Wilson is opening up about what inspired her to lose weight. In an interview with People, Wilson explained that she met with a fertility specialist in 2019 to freeze and harvest her eggs. The doctor told Wilson that she may have better luck if she shed a few pounds. “I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh God, this guy’s so rude.’ He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight,” Wilson told the outlet. “It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs that really inspired me to get healthier.”
Wilson, who also has polycystic ovarian syndrome, lost 80 pounds once she set her mind to it. “It wasn’t a goal to get to a certain weight,” she told the outlet. “It was just being the healthiest version of myself.” The star also promoted body positivity. “I feel sad if somebody doesn’t love the body they’re in. You want to celebrate all body types, but I also want to encourage people to be healthy.” Amen!
This is not the only time Wilson has opened up about her weight loss journey. In a 2020 interview with People, the star talked about her “high protein” diet that includes a lot of “fish, salmon, and chicken breast.” But, she noted that she will still indulge in some of her faves every once in a while because it’s about “overall healthy balance.”
