He was the son of Scott Fike. The 2022-23 USPHL season was supposed to be the best time in his career. Unfortunately, the young man passed away on an untimely basis and won’t be appearing on the ice field.

“Heavy heavy heart tonight finding out you are gone. I met Ben and his father Scott Fike when Ben was 12 years old and I was working at HPHD in Buffalo as a coach/trainer,” he wrote posting a picture of Ben.
“I quickly developed a friendship with his father and have continued my relationship with Ben for years. He sparked my love for coaching. Ben, it was an honor knowing you, and thank you for inspiring me. I couldn’t be more proud of the man you’ve become on and off the ice,” he added.
He concluded the emotional post by stating: “You’re gone way too soon but you’ve left an impact on so many people. Until we meet again, rest easy kid💔 LLB💔🕊”
