Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in December 2021 on charges related to sex trafficking. It’s believed she helped her boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, “recruit and groom” girls for high profile figures, allegedly including Prince Andrew (per Oxygen). But now her attorneys are so confident Scotty David, also known as “Juror 50,” lied that they’ve motioned for a new trial.
News broke today that the motion also came with a request: their motion stay sealed either until Judge Alison Nathan, who they made their request to, rules on their motion or until a hearing can be held (per Oxygen).
Maxwell’s attorneys’ main objective is to stop David and defense attorneys from seeing what David answered on his initial questionnaire. They believe it would provide “a roadmap of the defense’s examination of Juror 50 and will allow him to plan out or tailor his responses, or even potentially spoliate evidence, to paint himself and his conduct in the best light possible,” Oxygen reports.
If David had to convince his fellow jurors that Maxwell was guilty, this doesn’t bode well for another guilty verdict if Maxwell is granted a new trial. She is currently sentenced to 65 years in jail.
