Naomi Osaka has begun her preparations for the US Open in full swing. It is the tournament where the Japanese star has found immense success, having won the title in 2018 and 2020. The four-time Grand Slam champion is returning from an Achilles injury that forced her to skip the entire grass-court season.

Last week, she participated in the Silicon Valley Classis in San Jose. After an impressive opening-round win over Qinwen Zheng, Osaka lost in the second round against her on-court rival and close friend, Coco Gauff. Subsequently, Osaka will be playing in the WTA 1000 National Bank Open in Toronto.
