The fight was a clinch-heavy showdown and Holm looked a little slow from the get-go, as expected of an athlete who has entered the 40-year-age space. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ showed heart in the fight and was able to get momentum on her side from round 1 but escaped a near-decisive rear-naked choke in round 2. Although Holm was able to knock down ‘Fenomeno’ in round 4, the decision went in favor of the latter, who was awarded a split decision win.

Fans were particularly unhappy with the decision from the judges at UFC Vegas 55 and made it known via Twitter.

A reporter didn’t welcome Holm’s split decision loss after scoring it in her favor himself.
