Atletico Madrid are set to be without three key players for their big clash with Barcelona in the LaLiga.

The reigning Spanish champions return from the winter break with a tough trip away to the Nou Camp as both sides are still fighting for a spot in the Champions League as they sit fourth and fifth respectively.

Boss Diego Simeone will be without the likes of Antoine Griezmann, who continues to struggle with ongoing injuries, as well as the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia and Marcos Llorente, according to Football Espana.

Griezmann picked up a thigh muscle problem in the final stages of Los Rojiblancos 5-0 Copa del Rey win over Rayo Majadahonda, after coming off the bench to score his first goal in over a month.

The French star has struggled with injuries throughout the season since returning to the Indios on loan from his parent club Barcelona.

Kondogbia and Llorente have been missing since being forced off in their 2-1 semi final defeat to Athletic Club with the club since confirming hamstring injuries for the duo.

Atletico Madrid will have to rotate their squad for the clash with Barcelona who look set to recall Ousmane Dembele who has recently been frozen out of the squad.

The Catalan giants also have a number of new signings including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore that they could look to utilise while Atletico have included January signings Daniel Wass and Reinildo Mandava in their match day squad.

A late winner at Alaves last time out eased Barcelona’s troubles, having suffered early exits in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana.

But they remain outside the Champions League qualification places and are a whopping 15 points off leaders Real Madrid.
