The Miami Heat forward, Jimmy Butler, is a huge tennis fan. Apart from his love for basketball, he also loves watching tennis matches. In particular, he shares a good bond with German tennis star Alexander Zverev.

Both stars attend each other’s matches and usually keep poking each other on social media. Their fun banter is surely a source of entertainment for fans. Recently, Zverev got yet another opportunity to poke fun at the American, when he posted a video of himself playing tennis.

Alexander Zverev reacts to Butler’s tennis adventure

The American basketball player recently posted a video of himself playing tennis. In the video, we can see Butler win a point. Further, the Miami Heat forward tagged US Open to send him a wild card invite for the tournament.

“Dreams really do come true. @usopen don’t be afraid to send me an invite,” he wrote.

Zverev came up with a hilarious reply to the post.

“@usopen give this man a WC so at least I’ll have a chance of beating someone on crutches @jimmybutler.”

Notably, Zverev was in brilliant form in the French Open 2022, and gave a scare to the 22-time Grand Slam champion. However, the 25-year-old suffered an unfortunate injury against Rafael Nadal in the semifinal. He is still recovering and is hopeful of playing in the US Open later.

Good news for Zverev fans

Away from action after twisting his ankle in the French Open, the 25-year-old shared a positive update for his fans. The current world number 2 has posted a video on Instagram where he can be seen walking without crutches. While the German was in great form in Roland Garros, the freak injury also cost him a chance to play in the Wimbledon Championships later. Now that the 25-year-old is recovering well, we hope he is fully fit before the start of the US Open.

The current world number two is still looking for his first Grand Slam title. His best attempt came in the 2020 US Open, where he made his way up to the finals.
