And as it stands, she was behind Williams by a good margin when the Forbes list came out. But she still bested the tennis legend in one area.
She also beat Venus Williams and Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas as she triumphed.
Patrick, who became the first female to win a Cup pole at the Daytona 500, won a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for the third time in 2013. Moreover, she was named the favorite female athlete according to nascar.com.
The former NASCAR Cup Series and IndyCar driver bested the Tennis legend, Serena Williams, her sister, Venus and Gabby Douglas. She celebrated the win at the USC Galen Center as she said, “This is a huge award. It means so much when I see you at the race track, and you cheer for me.”
She won the same award in 2012, and 2008, too. And she was accompanied to the award show in 2013 by none other than her then-boyfriend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

In fact, she made a whopping, $7 million more than the Daytona 500 pole winner. Patrick was the 5th highest earning female athlete in that year, while Williams was 3rd.
