The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had to taste the ire of several fans, including celebrities in the past, for his actions. Specifically, while he kneeled during the national anthem played before the NFL games.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant once called out Kaepernick for his widespread protests and suggested that he would have gone for an alternative solution. Bryant also claimed that he reached out to the former QB, but they never spoke with each other.

While talking in the I am Athlete podcast, Bryant touched on various topics, including his past life and humbled upbringing. The way his mother was treated in society and how he managed to rise in his life were some of the highlights of the talk. But his thoughts for Kaepernick were something that sought more attention from the fans.

“I respect Colin Kapernick, but there’s one thing that I don’t respect,” he said. “I said it when I get the opportunity, and to get on the stage and say it I would, and I love him to death. So it ain’t no hate or nothing like that, but brother you had the biggest opportunity in the world to create jobs, build jobs, give jobs to people…”

“The people that you were talking about, the people you so-called standing up for, the people who stood beside you, the people who lost their jobs because of you. Where are you at? I ain’t heard from you.” the 33-year-old added to his statements. According to him, there was “no call for action” and all his protests were unnecessary.

After playing his last NFL game on January 1, 2017, Kaepernick ventured into social activism. He fought for rights and equality through his laid path and with the help of media houses. That’s how his movement took a life on its own.

According to The Atlantics’, Jemele Hill Kaepernick has various business avenues dedicated to his movement. A publishing company, a SPAC that’s raising $300 Million for social justice initiatives, a production company, etc. Moreover, his “know your rights” campaign gathered huge donations from several celebrities.

As of now, Kaepernick is desperately trying to attempt an NFL return. The Las Vegas Raiders had offered him a successful workout session. It’s yet to see if the team really cares to consider him for the upcoming season.
