Pep Guardiola wanted to speak about Erling Haaland’s impending arrival at Manchester City but was thwarted by legal formalities.

Haaland is currently sealing a move to the Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old underwent medical tests in Brussels on Monday afternoon before confirmation of the deal, expected before the weekend.

‘Everybody knows the situation but I should not talk because I don’t like to talk about the future,’ Guardiola said.

‘Dortmund and Man City have told me I can’t say anything until the deal is completely done. I would love to talk but I can’t.

‘They said don’t say anything due to the legal actions. We’ll have time to talk about it, it’s not that I don’t want to.’

City require seven points from their remaining three matches to lift a fourth title in five years without the need for Liverpool to slip up.

Guardiola takes his side to Wolves on Wednesday, having taken four points from three games at Molineux during his time in charge.

‘[Winning] this final gives us the opportunity to arrive with destiny in our hands, it’s massively important,’ he added. ‘Always Wolves have been one of the toughest opponents we face for many reasons.

‘We are proud what we are doing and what we will do in the future. Hopefully we can do it in the future.

‘We know it’s so impressive – especially in the Premier league, everyone knows how difficult it is.

‘Both teams have done impressive seasons, both teams – we know what we have to do.’
