Haney reacts to ‘Tank’s’ performance

‘The Dream’ recently made an appearance on The MMA Hour show hosted by Ariel Helwani, where he talked about his victory over Kambosos, future opponents, and more. And during a segment, Helwani asks Haney to share his thoughts on ‘Tank’s’ performance against Romero and the champ had this to say,

“It didn’t surprise me. I never rated Romero. I don’t understand why the world even felt like Romero even had a chance. Romero hasn’t fought at the top level, hasn’t beaten anybody at the top level, he lost to a guy before he even got to the top level, “

Haney then adds that he felt Romero only ever had a puncher’s chance against Davis, “so what did he have to make anybody feel like he could beat Tank besides a punch. I mean, when you’re at the top, everybody can punch. Everybody has powers.

After their victories, both men have gained a lot of acclaim and with them competing in the same division, a fight between the two might seem inevitable. Moreover, Davis has now decided to part ways with his former promoter Floyd Mayweather, and he will now be able to secure bigger fights as a free agent.

Haney on the other hand might have his hands full for some time, as he might have to face Kambosos once again. This is because of the rematch clause stipulated in their contract, although many fans feel that a rematch is unnecessary. As Haney was in control during the whole fight. But Kambosos is eager for a rematch and will probably enforce the clause. Moreover, Ryan Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya has also made a multi-million dollar offer for Davis to fight Garcia.
